Job Description

The position

Responsible for the successful implementation of the Media Operations at all stadiums in Brazil for the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027.

Media Operations is a very important function in the organisation, as this area is providing the services and conditions for all media to report about the competition to millions of viewers, listeners and readers around the world.

Reporting organisationally to the Head of  Media Operations & Services, the Senior Media Operations Manager will be a key member of the FIFA27 Operations team, and work in close collaboration with Venue Management, Team Services, Competition Management, Media Partnerships, Host Broadcast Operations, Host City Rights Management and other key individuals responsible for planning, delivering and managing Media operations for the more than 2000 national and international media expected to attend the FIFA Women’s World Cup. Success with this project will contribute favourably to the positive outcome of the Women’s Football Strategy 2018-2027.

Key responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver consistent media-dedicated spaces and flows, in all of competition venues in collaboration with other key functional areas.
  • Define strategic implementation of Media Operations & Services in collaboration with the Services manager in each host city based on unique availability of resources.
  • Support the planning and implementation of all corporate media activities for the FIFA Women’s World Cup.
  • Ensure media areas at the competition venues are set up to the highest possible industry standards and are ready to be operational within the agreed timeframe ahead of the start of the tournament.
  • Work in close collaboration with the Senior Media Services Manager to define space requirements for International News Agency representatives at competition venues.
  • Event-time coordination and management of the Venue Media Managers team in the stadiums. Set up regular meetings and workshops with the Venue Media Managers of the stadiums.
  • Plan and train the media volunteers together with the venue managers
  • Support engagement with local and international media to define requirements and ensure the delivery of operations is set to the highest standards.
  • Implementation of the Camera Loan & repair facilities and any new service

Your profile

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
  • Higher education qualification in media or sports event management
  • 5+ years’ experience in the sports industry, with an emphasis on media and broadcast operations
  • 5-7 years’ experience in sports project management, preferably in football
  • Fluent in English, Portuguese, Spanish and/or French proficiency is a plus
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio & Project) and planning software and online collaboration tools
  • Right to work in Brazil.
  • Ability to re-locate to Rio de Janeiro.
