Your playing field

In the area of ​​Performance – Athletics & Rehabilitation, the focus is on the physical development and sports science support of our players in women’s and girls’ football.

For our Performance department, we are seeking a full-time Rehabilitation & Athletic Trainer (m/f/d) for the Women’s Bundesliga , starting July 1, 2026. The position is initially limited to two years .

You are responsible for the planning, organization and implementation of rehabilitation and prevention measures in the women’s Bundesliga team of SV Werder Bremen and play a central role in the athletic support and rehabilitation process of the players.

Your tasks

  • You will be responsible for the content planning and personal execution of all rehabilitation training measures for players in the women’s Bundesliga squad, including the necessary testing procedures for rehabilitation.
  • You organize the rehabilitation training measures in coordination with the participating doctors, physiotherapists and athletic trainers and are in continuous professional exchange.
  • You will participate in all preventive measures, especially in the area of ​​secondary and tertiary prevention (post-injury care).
  • You will participate in the structural development of the treatment concept and rehabilitation standards.
  • You are responsible for the documentation and evaluation of all training measures carried out, especially in the SAP system and within the framework of the employers’ liability insurance association’s billing.

Your profile

  • You have a completed degree in sports science with a focus on training science, rehabilitation, sports medicine or a comparable qualification, ideally with additional qualifications in the field of rehabilitation, prevention or athletic training.
  • You bring several years of experience in the rehabilitation of competitive athletes, ideally in professional football.
  • You have experience in training management during the rehabilitation process as well as in interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • You possess sound knowledge in training theory, functional training, biomechanics, strength diagnostics and functional anatomy.
  • You are proficient in using rehabilitative testing procedures as well as modern training, diagnostic and documentation systems.
  • You work in a structured and independent manner, and are resilient and flexible.
  • You impress with your teamwork skills, communication skills, discretion, and professional demeanor.
  • You have good IT skills (MS Office, SAP or similar), a good understanding of data and ideally English skills.
