Job Description

Born in 2004,  OL Lyonnes  is the most successful club in the UEFA Women’s Champions League with 8 European trophies to its credit (including 5 won consecutively). 

With a total of  40 titles , including 18 French Championships, 10 French Cups and 3 Champions Trophies, OL Lyonnes has the greatest record in the French women’s championship. 

Acquired by Michele Kang in 2023, the club joins the first multi-club women’s soccer organization owned and led by a woman, alongside the Washington Spirit and London City Lionesses clubs.

In a context of strong growth (ticketing, sponsorship, hospitality, merchandising), OL Lyonnes wishes to accelerate its development by strengthening its roots and commitment to its communities and is therefore looking for its future  Business Development & Community Engagement Manager (M/F) on a full-time permanent contract.

Your main responsibilities will be as follows

  1. Developing and acquiring new communities (priority mission)
  • Identify, target, and actively recruit new priority communities:
    • Women’s football network (amateur clubs)
    • Multisport & Lifestyle Clubs and Communities
    • Young audiences (students, young professionals)
  • Deploy a proactive approach to field prospecting (clubs, schools, universities, associations, etc.)
  • Building and structuring a sustainable network
  • Develop acquisition strategies primarily focused on fieldwork, in addition to digital actions.
  1. Field presence & relationship development
  • Maintaining a strong presence on the ground through regular visits, tours, and meetings.
  • To be the primary contact for clubs and communities
  • Identify development opportunities and specific community needs
  1. Community engagement and animation
  • Designing and managing activations tailored to communities
  • Develop community participation in matches and enrich the matchday experience
  • Building community loyalty through regular, high-value actions

This position requires close coordination with sports teams to support partner clubs, educators and coaches, share best practices, organize workshops… It also involves regular collaboration with the promotion/communication teams to relay field actions, enrich content and maximize the impact of activations carried out.

Profile and experience

Operational role with a strong field component, availability required on some weekends on match days. 

A Master’s degree (BAC +5) from a business school, ideally in the sports sector, with desirable experience in sports project management, territorial development, and network/community management.

Experience in organizing sporting events or activities would be an asset, and knowledge of the football or women’s sports scene would be appreciated.
