Job Description
Main tasks
1. You will be responsible for sports medicine and rehabilitation in the areas of youth development, women’s sports, and gaming. This includes leading the team, coordinating medical care, and ensuring that training and match support run smoothly.
2. You ensure high-quality, scientifically sound care in rehabilitation and performance, setting medical standards according to “best practice”. At the same time, you define and implement treatment pathways, methods, and procedures across your entire area of responsibility.
3. You will continuously develop the medical department and set standards for a leading football academy. Your responsibilities include comprehensive reporting to the Head of Youth Development, the Head of Women’s Football, the Head of Performance, and the team doctor of the professional team, as well as strategic contributions to the further development of this area.
Miscellaneous
1. You support the strategy development, budget planning and implementation control of the medical department to ensure long-term performance and efficiency.
2. You are able to take over the medical care of the men’s team when needed and ensure that all procedures and standards are seamlessly adhered to.
Qualifications
- Completed specialist training in orthopedics and trauma surgery, physical and rehabilitation medicine, general medicine, or a comparable patient-oriented specialty. Alternatively, you are in advanced specialist training.
- Specialist or additional qualification in sports medicine (depending on national regulations) with the possibility of membership in a German medical association
- Experience in coaching junior and professional athletes, ideally in football.
- Experience in the application of diagnostic methods (e.g. ultrasound) and in scientific work or participation in projects.
- Reliability, independent and team-oriented work
- A structured way of working as well as a high degree of planning and organizational skills.
- You are characterized by team spirit combined with the will to develop and implement new things.
- Strong, target-group-oriented communication and confident demeanor
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Excellent German and English skills, both spoken and written.
