The women’s Bundesliga continues to grow. This can be seen, among other things, in the growing number of spectators: In the 2022/2023 season, 359,000 spectators came to the stadiums; in the following season, this figure was increased by around 20,000 fans.
And this season the rush of spectators continues: Before matchday 9, 127,000 fans had already flocked to the stadiums of the twelve Bundesliga clubs.
The growth of the women’s Bundesliga is also reflected in sponsorship income. This includes the new advertising space that has been available since last season: sponsorship on the back of the jersey.
FC Bayern München for example started this co-operation this season. The German champions are sponsored by Ehrmann, the agreement is valid until 2027.
one Bundesliga team still has no jersey sponsor
So while the big clubs in the Bundesliga can generate additional income through sleeve and back sponsors, bottom-of-the-table Potsdam has been left behind here too. The long-standing figurehead of German football is currently playing without a main sponsor.
