Job Description
UBWFC is one of the largest University Women’s Football Clubs in the UK, with six squads and a proud record of success. With membership numbers increasing every year, this is an exciting opportunity to get involved and become a valued member of our club.
Our First Team recently won the BUCS Southern Premier League (2023 & 2025) and represented Great Britain at the European Universities Championships in Tirana, Albania (2023). That same season we were awarded Team of the Year at the Bristol SU Sports Awards, with the club also shortlisted for Club of the Year — a reflection of our collective achievements. As an inclusive, forward-thinking club with professional ethos, we’re well respected both across the University and on the national stage.
We are now recruiting a Third Team Coach to lead our BUCS (British Universities and Colleges Sport) Western Tier 2B squad in the 2025/26 season.
The aim is clear: ensure our third performance squad hits the ground running in their next BUCS season and emulates the success of our other performance squads.
Role details
- 2 weekly training sessions: Tuesdays & Fridays, Coombe Dingle Sports Complex (3G and Upper Astro)
- Matches: Wednesdays during term time (home & away, transport is also provided for all away games further than 50 miles across the South West Region) &any necessary friendlies
- Term dates: 22 Sept – 12 Dec 2025; 19 Jan – 1 May 2026
- Pay: £17/hr (training) + £50/match (expected range salary £1800-£2100)
- Expenses: Travel reimbursed at 25p/mile (for away games less than 50 miles)

Tuesday: 19:00 – 20:30 (3G)
Friday: 17:00 – 18:00 (Upper Astro)
What we’re looking for
- Applicants to be deemed successful should hold an FA Level One or above
- Enthusiastic and motivated to develop student-athletes in a performance environment
- Passion for Women’s Football; We welcome all backgrounds but as a Woman’s Football Club we are particularly keen on female applicants looking to build their coaching careers at a high level University Club
- Attendance of all training sessions and matches as the coach/manager of the squad. Our first game of the season is a home fixture on the 15th of October against UWE Women’s 1.
