The Norwegian Football Association is looking for a committed and strategically strong media manager for the women’s A-national team, with communication responsibility for NFF’s strategic focus area  “New era of success for Norwegian women’s football”

The position will have a key role in developing and strengthening communication around the team, while contributing to realizing NFF’s strategic focus on achieving a new era of success for Norwegian women’s and girls’ football. 

As media manager, you will be the link between the national team, the media, partners and the public. You will be close to the players and the support staff, and help build profiles, stories and experiences that inspire both current and future football players. You will also work closely with the club and the circuit, and have communication responsibility for the Norwegian Women’s Championship and projects such as the UEFA Women’s Champion’s League final to be played at Ullevaal Stadium in May 2026. You will report to the communications director.

The position will be part of the national team’s support staff, and will be subordinate to the national team manager A-women during training sessions/matches, as well as during planning and evaluation of training sessions/matches.

Job duties

  • Plan, coordinate and implement media and communication work for the women’s A-national team. Longer periods of travel must be expected for gatherings and tournaments at home and abroad.  
  • Be the main contact for national and international press for the women’s A-national team  
  • Contribute to building profiles and strengthening the brand of Norwegian women’s football 
  • Advice and support to the national team manager, players and support staff in media management 
  • Participate actively in NFF’s strategy work for women’s and girls’ football, with particular focus on visibility, engagement and audience development 
  • Contribute to creating a comprehensive communications strategy that supports the goal of a new era of success 
  • Develop and publish content in our channels specifically related to strategy work  
Qualifications

  • Relevant higher education in communications, journalism, media studies or equivalent 
  • Documented experience from media and communications work, preferably within football or other sports 
  • Good understanding of media logic, digital platforms and storytelling 
  • Ability to work strategically and operationally under time pressure 
  • Good understanding and insight into mechanisms in sports, especially top-level sports 
  • Very good written and oral presentation skills in Norwegian and English
