The Nitros Development Program serves players aged 9-10, helping them develop technical and tactical skills through age-appropriate coaching. Our goal is to prepare these players for the next stage of their soccer journey—transitioning into the Advanced Development Program (U11-U12). Coaches work closely with players in Pods, which are organized by skill level, and each Pod trains three times per week, with weekly games.
This role requires approximately 6 on-field hours per week, 2 games, and 2 hours of administrative duties, with evening and weekend commitments. Coaches are given breaks following the program and league schedules.

- Plan and deliver high-quality training sessions in line with the Nitros Age Group curriculum.
- Lead and coach during games, ensuring a positive and competitive experience for all players.
- Facilitate player tryouts, assessments, and feedback.
- Providing player feedback throughout the season.
- Maintain regular communication with players, families, and the Technical Director.
- Foster a positive and supportive team environment, focused on player development.

- Experience coaching grassroots players aged 8-12.
- Strong knowledge of player development and age-appropriate coaching methods.
- Mandatory: Learn to Train Community Workshop (S4L), Respect in Sport (RIS), Making Ethical Decisions (MED), Making Headway, and NCCP Emergency Action Planning.
- Preferred: Children’s or C Licence.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Note
The certifications listed above are required for coaching grassroots soccer in Ontario but are easily accessible, with many available online. The Club will assist coaches in obtaining these certifications if needed.
